Can someone help mme with my unlocked LG chocolate phone?

I have a problem with the voice mail. My phone keeps saying i have a voicemail even after i check and delete it. the voicemail icon stays on the screen. how can i get ride of it. i have already tried resetting my phone. shutting it down. adding more voice mail and deleting it.... any more ideas?
